She also has a song out currently for Jungle Jams; an album for the Bengals. She is now working in the recording studio at Mind Ignition with Alex Lusht. They will have a full record set to be released in June 2008. (from myspace.com/kinseyrose)

Cincy Groove: I see you produced your first record at age 13.

Kinsey Rose: Yes, I actually just found it the other day. I was playing the fiddle, did the background harmonies, I did everything myself. I had a 4 track recorder so I did the whole record on that. It was really cool to listen to the lyrics and to see what I was going through then.

Cincy Groove: What did you grow up listening to?

Kinsey Rose: I grew up listening to oldies. Thats all that I knew existed. It was always on in the house. Then one day my sister came home singing this rap song, and I said “What is that?” That was the first time I realized another type of music existed.

Cincy Groove: Did you collaborate with anyone on your upcoming cd?

Kinsey Rose: I did co write one song with this guy David Morgan. He is originally from LA but I met up with him in Nashville. He is really popular. He has written songs for Ray Charles, and a lot of other famous people. He has made a living off of writing songs.

Cincy Groove: I see that you auditioned for Nashville Star a few years ago. How did that go?

Kinsey Rose: It was a crazy experience. Actually my dad and I made a video and sent it in to Nashville Star just the other day. Its worth a shot but I don’t expect anything from it.

Cincy Groove: Did you ever try out for American Idol?

Kinsey Rose: Yes I did, but I would rather work my butt for it. Going out and performing shows and meeting the fans is the way to do it. I couldn’t have the title of American Idol behind my name. It seems people from American Idol don’t end up sticking around for very long.
