Early Monday morning, July 14, 2008 singer/songwriter Katie Reider died from complications related to a rare disease, a Myfibroblastic Inflammation Pseudo Tumor. She was just starting to break through with her music before she started getting sick in 2006. A website has been set up to help keep Katie’s music alive and to help raise funds for Katie’s partner and 2 sons. Please visit www.500kin365.org, it explains her condition and how you can help.
In addition to her father, survivors include her partner of 10 years, Karen Reider, of Montclair, N.J.; their sons, 3-year-old Aiden and 1-year-old Koen; brothers Robbie of Norwood and Andy of Montgomery; sisters Kristin of New York state, Abby of Indiana and Beth of California; and seven nieces and nephews.
