Dave Katz from ekoostik hookah also announced that the band has planned a trip to Jamaica in March of 2009! I went on a similar trip that they held back in 1999 and it is more than worth the trip. Freekbass was next up right after ekoostik hookah on the side stage. This is a great funk band from Cincinnati, OH who has been turning a lot of heads lately. They are also releasing a brand new cd on Oct 28 called “Junkyard Waltz” featuring guest spots from Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Mike Gordon (Phish). Barely a few songs into their set the rain started pouring. The rain itself wasn’t a problem except it was almost coming in sideways. After a short rain delay Freekbass re took the stage and everyone came back down and had a great time. Photos from the evening will be coming very soon.
