Cincinnati, OH – On January 24th the Rumpke Mountain Boys will release “Family Perspective”. The launch will be celebrated with a release party at The Redmoor on 3187 Linwood Ave. The Rumpkes will be joined by local bluegrass pickers Rubber Knife Gang and Farm Hand. Tickets are $10 at the door and the show starts at 9pm.
The new album is their first major release since The Unholy Adventures of Bob Squirrel Pants, a collection of live recordings which came out 2006. Family Perspective is the only all original studio album by the 5 time CEA (Cincinnati Entertainment Award) recipients widely known for the live performances. Many of the tracks are currently being played on local radio station WNKU and have received warm reviews.
The album is a reflective look at friends and family, as well as some of the problems faced by many Americans today. Of course there is still a fair amount of Rumpke’s eccentric artistry and humor. All four members of the Rumpke Mountain Boys contributed songs for the album which displays the diversity of styles and influences that have always made Rumpke truly unique.
The Redmoor, formerly Jaspers, in Cincinnati will be hosting the first of at least five release parties. Shows in Athens, Yellow Springs, Lexington, and Louisville have also been scheduled. The album will be available at independent record stores and Rumpke Mountain Boys shows. Online sales will also be made available.
