Covington, KY – Local musicians, Ryan Malott (frontman of 500 Miles to Memphis) and Kelly Thomas (Fabulous Pickups, formerly in Second Sister), release an independent 5 song self titled EP with two celebrations. Friday, June 26th at The Northside Tavern and Friday, July 3rd at York Street Café.

Both artists are busy enough with their respective bands, however, the chemistry and songwriting made this project something they could not pass up. The writing and harmonizing helped each to expand beyond their usual style, challenging each to find musical qualities they may not have tapped into working alone.

Malott and Thomas cowrote the album in a matter of months, the songs coming easily. The EP was recorded at Candyland Studios, engineered by Mike Montgomery and Jim Turner. Several local players contributed their talents to the tracks; Dave Rhodes Brown, Amos Hopkins, Kevin Hogle, John Bedinghaus and Jeff Boling. The album is alt-country in style soaked with harmonies and sing-a-long hooks. If you would be interested in a pre-release copy to review, please contact Kelly. CD’s can be purchased by the public for $6 at either show or online at www.500mtm.com.
