New Supergroup, Holy Kimoto Featuring Steve Kimock and Members of String Cheese Incident Debut 1/8

holy kimoto, steve kimockEach year, right after New Years Eve, thousands of music fans embark on the Florida coast for the six-day Jam Cruise – an event featuring the nations top independent improvisational talent. This year is no different, the already sold-out Jam Cruise returns to American soil allowing local music promoters to get in on the action.

The White Room in Miami will play host to the “jam-elite” as headline performers Steve Kimock and Kyle Hollingsworth join forces with the electronic duo EOTO for a first-time performance together on a single stage, on January 8th. The event dubbed “HOLY KIMOTO” has already created significant national buzz and ticket sales are selling briskly.

The single-night performance will feature inspired jams and highly improvised music, as the collective will not have rehearsal time before the show. Kimock will board Jam Cruise with his project Crazy Engine while Hollingsworth will perform on the boat with both his own band as well as The Motet’s Talking Heads tribute act. The New Year will find Jason Hann and Michael Travis making waves of their own as they take their full-time project EOTO along the Florida Keys for their 2010 kick-off tour.

This rare and special event will play witness to a number of musical surprises and will feature the nations best improvisational artists on a single stage. While each of the musicians has performed together in various side projects, the foursome has not shared a stage as a single unit before. Listeners will have a chance to see the project take significant musical risks – an entity that defies the jam community and their devoted fans.
