“One More Girl On A Stage” hosted by The Rivertown Music Club annual Breast Cancer Benefit takes place January 15 and 16, 2010

The Rivertown Music Club is a local organization that has combined local music and charity for the past five years. We are looking forward to this year’s “One More Girl On A Stage” two-night showcase featuring some of the region’s best female artists! The event benefits The Susan G. Komen foundation, leader in breast cancer research. It will take place at York Street Café in Newport, Kentucky.

The line up includes; hostess Vicki D’Salle, Kelly Thomas and Ryan Malott, Lauren Houston, Tupelo Honey, Wonky Tonk, The Polly Esthers, Raison D’etre, Shiny and The Spoon, Kate Haralson, Blue Confessions, Honney Combs, J. Dorsey Blues featuring
Kristen Kreft, Lydia Loveless, De Los Muertos, Jenny Ward, Robin and Joanie Lacey, Stick Figure Drawings, Carole Walker, Smitten Hicks and Audrey Cecil and Amanda Lucas. There will be music on two stages and the lineup is extremely diverse.

The event will also feature; an art gallery showing in mixed medias by several local artists celebrating the feminine, an exhibition by Keshvar Project (Belly dancing), a silent auction and split-the-pot raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. $7 per night or $10 for a weekend pass. 18 and up welcome! The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Over the course of the past three years over $7500 has been donated by RTMC to charities that help women deal with the harsh realities of breast cancer; The Pink Ribbon Girls and Susan G. Komen Foundation. We hope to exceed donations from years’ past this year! Thank you for any help spreading the word about this worthwhile event!
