DROPKICK MURPHYS have announced opening acts for their run of seven shows in six days at Boston’s House of Blues the week of St. Patrick’s Day (March 12-17). Among the openers for DROPKICK MURPHYS hometown shows are NYC hardcore legends Sick Of It All, Bay Area punks Swingin’ Utters and their folk/punk alter-ego Filthy Thieving Bastards (featuring three of the five Utters), and current DKM tourmates Larry And His Flask.

The eclectic rotation of opening acts offers something for all facets of the DROPKICK MURPHYS fan base – from hardened punk rockers to local partisans to Celtic folk devotees. Sick Of It All (3/16-17), Swingin’ Utters (3/14-15) and Larry And His Flask (3/12 & 3/17) all perform double-duty, as does Toronto psychobilly quartet The Creepshow (3/12 & 3/13 matinee show). Filthy Thieving Bastards play the late show on March 13 along with Boston-based Celtic traditionalists The Old Brigade. Other openers from the local scene include The Have Nots (3/13 matinee show), Rhode Islanders Sharks Come Cruisin (3/14), Cocked N’ Loaded (3/15), and Bryan McPherson (3/16).

The intensity and camaraderie of last year’s St. Patrick’s Day shows are captured on the live CD/DVD LIVE ON LANSDOWNE, BOSTON MA, due March 16 on DKM’s own Born & Bred Records (ILG). Following in the tradition of 2002’s Live On St. Patrick’s Day From Boston MA—which has sold over 250,000 copies worldwide—LIVE ON LANSDOWNE features an entirely different 20-song set list and a guest appearance by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones on DKM’s platinum-selling single “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.”

Meanwhile, DROPKICK MURPHYS have taken their charitable organization The Claddagh Fund on the road for the band’s current tour with the creation of Friends Of The Claddagh Fund – which rewards serious commitment to fundraising with perks including early access to DROPKICK MURPHYS tickets and raffles, and the opportunity to attend an “appreciation event” hosted by the band and celebrity friends. More immediately, the band has been holding a $10 charity raffle on several of the tour dates, giving fans the chance to win backstage passes and a limited edition autographed DROPKICK MURPHYS poster from the 2010 NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park. For more on The Claddagh Fund and Friends Of The Claddagh Fund, go to www.claddaghfund.org.

As previously announced, DROPKICK MURPHYS head to the U.K. and Ireland for ten dates with Face To Face in April, and return to the U.S. stage for the last day of this year’s Bonnaroo Festival (6/13) and the final seven dates of the 2010 Vans Warped Tour (8/7-15). DROPKICK MURPHYS’ current tour with openers Strung Out and Larry And His Flask wraps March 10 in Wallingford, CT.
