Over-the-Rhine/Gateway Summer Celebration and the GO/OTR 5K Race on May 22nd, 2010 in Cincinnati, OH

Support and celebrate the exciting changes taking place in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati’s most historic and diverse neighborhood. The Go OTR 5K run/walk is Saturday May 22 at 10am followed by an all day festival, OTR/Gateway Quarter Summer Celebration, until 7pm. It all begins at the corner of 12th and Vine streets in Over-the-Rhine. Special thanks to sponsors PNC Bank, HGC Construction and Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC)

The 4th annual Go OTR 5K run/walk benefits the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce. Preregistration is $15 and $20 the day of the race. All participants receive the official Go OTR 5K Run t-shirt designed by Nati Evolvement. To register please visit, www.otrchamber.com.

The OTR/Gateway Quarter Summer Celebration is an outdoor street festival organized by shopowners in the Gateway Quarter to celebrate the artistic character of the neighborhood. Over 20 local artists and craftspeople will display and sell their one-of-a-kind work. Local bands including Baoku Moses & The Image Afro Beat Band, Messerly & Ewing, Zumba, Daughters & Sons and Brian Olive will perform live music all day on the 12th and Vine stage. And of course Gateway Quarter restaurants such as Lavomatic and Senate, as well as a variety of food vendors, will be open for lunch.

Other events happening that day include the Gargantuan Gay Garage Sale at 1214 Vine St. benefiting Pride Cincinnati, Little Mahatma 21st Anniversary Celebration at 1205 Vine St. and the Grand Opening of Cooknee Euro Style Cabinets, a kitchen remodeling store, at 1150 Vine St.
