Warren Haynes has launched his first official iPhone app. Among the first of its kind, Warren will teach fellow guitarists to play the Gov’t Mule songs “Broke Down on the Brazos,” “Railroad Boy,” “Frozen Fear,” “Gordon James,” and “Forevermore” from the blazing new album ‘By A Thread’ on the app: TouchChords: Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule). The app features note-by-note transcriptions, chord arrangements, and tablature. Search for Warren Haynes in the App Store or head to this link to download:
*See the music while you hear it… the best way to learn is to play it yourself.
*Practice through multiple arrangements per song: Warren’s solos, rhythm guitar tracks, and a special “open chords” only arrangement for beginners.
*View translucent hand images for each chord. See exactly where to put your fingers on the neck to play comfortably. A much better way to learn a chord than a typical chord diagram!
*Just Chords: If you’ve already learned a few chords and want to play songs that use what you know, tap “Just Chords” to see the chords in each song.
*Multitouch chord trainer: When you’re looking at “Just Chords,” hit “Practice chord” to play it on a fretboard that is 1:1 in scale with that of a real guitar.
*Tempo control and metronome: When practicing with the virtual guitar audio, use the tempo slider to learn at your own speed.
*If you’re a lefty, check out the settings. You can flip the guitar around to the way you like to see it.
