Widely admired singer-songwriter and LA native Holly Conlan has known Sara Bareilles since they both performed at LA’s famed proving ground Hotel Café, and beginning October 7th, Conlan opens for and performs with Bareilles in 22 major markets across the country.

Conlan will open the show on piano with several of her own songs accompanied by her trusted multi-instrumentalist Fil Krohnengold (guitar, accordion, etc.). She will also take the stage to lend her vocals to Bareilles on several more songs throughout the night.

“These songs have come a long way from where they were first born in terms of how they sound on the record and how I usually play them with a full band. Playing them more intimately like this is refreshing and I’m excited for people to hear them this way,” notes Conlan of the stripped down set-up.

Conlan, whose emotionally resonant album ‘Fascinator’ (Cloverbird) is out now, creates syncopated piano-driven songs with simple, yet deeply meaningful lyrics. With an affecting alto voice, Conlan uses her training in classical composition to write unusual string voicings and surprising rhythms. “Take the Blame” and “One Two Three” from ‘Fascinator’ are just a few of Conlan’s latest songs that have appeared in hit shows such as 90210, Drop Dead Diva One Tree Hill, and Ghost Whisperer. Additionally, one of her earliest songs, the heartbreaking “You Are Goodbye,” was awarded the coveted iTunes Single of the Week spot and will be featured in the upcoming Natalie Portman movie Love & Other Impossible Pursuits. Conlan has also shared the stage with notable performers including Colbie Caillat, Katy Perry, Ingrid Michaelson and Butch Walker, and was part of the 2008 Hotel Café Tour.
