One More Girl On A Stage Showcase, January 21 and 22 at York Street Café, Newport, KY

The Rivertown Music Club is a local organization that has combined local music and charity for the past seven years. After much thought, local musician and founder, Kelly Thomas has decided to discontinue the organization. The 2 night, One More Girl On A Stage, will be the last Rivertown Music Club show. Thomas is extremely proud of all the events that have been hosted by RTMC, however, she is working on several new projects and knows that if you spread yourself too thin, you can’t do anything well. The hope is that the last show is the best ever!

The two-night showcase features some of the region’s best female artists! The event benefits The Susan G. Komen foundation, leader in breast cancer research. It will take place at York Street Café in Newport, Kentucky on January 21 and 22, 2011.

The line up includes; Kelly Thomas and The Fabulous Pickups, Ma Crow and Katie Lauer, Lauren Houston, Tupelo Honey, Wonky Tonk, The Western, Raison D’etre, Shiny and The Spoon, Kate Haralson, Hello, Hello, Chakras, Kristen Kreft, Chelisa Bailey-McCord, Megan Hutch, Makenna and Shelby, Kristen Key, Shoot Out The Lights, The Whitney Barricklow Band, The Dishes, Liz Bowater and Switchblade Syndicate . There will be music on two stages and the lineup is extremely diverse. Set times and performers by night is listed below.

The event will also feature; an art gallery photography showing by Sara Sampley, Jason Bechtel and Jeff Sevier, an exhibition by Keshvar Project (Belly dancing), a silent auction and split-the-pot raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. $8 per night or $10 for a weekend pass. 18 and up welcome! The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Over the course of the past three years over $9500 has been donated by RTMC to charities that help women deal with the harsh realities of breast cancer; The Pink Ribbon Girls and Susan G. Komen Foundation. We hope to exceed donations from years’ past this year! Thank you for any help spreading the word about this worthwhile event!
