Winter Blues Fest 2011 – Charity CD, Discount Advance Tickets – Southgate House 1/28 – 1/29

CINCINNATI, OH – January 17, 2011: Tickets are available now for the Winter Blues Fest on January 28 and 29 at The Southgate House in Newport, KY. In the past, tickets were only available at the door, but this year advance tickets are available for purchase online at Southgate House’s Ticketfly page for $15 (scroll down to find the Winter Blues Fest listings for Friday and Saturday), and in person at the Southgate House Lounge, or at Shake It Records in Northside (no service fee if purchased in cash from SGH or Shake It, small fee if you use a credit card). On each day of the show, tickets will be $20 at the door, no discounts.

“We sold out last year and had to turn people away at the door,” says festival coordinator Mark Bubash. “So we’re encouraging people to buy their tickets early to ensure they can get in. And you also get a discount off what you would have paid at the door.”

Another first for this year’s Winter Blues Fest is the sale of a special compilation CD — the BITS Benefit Collection — comprised of original music by some of the bands performing at the event. Artists on the CD include The Blue Birds, Bad Men on a Mission, Ralph and the Rhythm Hounds, Kayneevol, Leo Clarke Band, The Blues Merchants, The Electric Souls, Voodoo Puppet, Chuck Brisbin & the Tuna Project, G. Miles & the Hitmen, John Redell, and 46 Long.

Proceeds from the CD sales and festival ticket sales will benefit the Blues In The Schools program.
