Cincinnati, OH – The Cincy Winter Beerfest never disappoints and always proves to be a sell-out crowd of thousands from the Greater Cincinnati area coming to The Duke Energy Convention Center for a taste of the best beer around. The 5th Cincy Winter Beerfest is expected to continue the trend of sellout crowd for 2012 and expected to become one of the Top Ten largest craft beer festivals in the country. Tickets for the 2012 Cincy Winter Beerfest will go on sale, starting on Thursday, December 1, 2011 and all those purchasing general admission tickets will receive VIP tickets for the same price until December 25th! Several different events will lead up to the big weekend in February. The first is the “Ticket Sales Launch Party,” hosted at Rock Bottom Brewery on Wednesday, November 30th. The party starts at 6PM and all volunteers, sponsors, staff and media are welcome to come down and enjoy happy hour with local beers and preview of what the Cincy Winter Beerfest will have to offer.

The Cincy Winter Beerfest will be the closing event of the Inaugural Cincinnati Beer Week that will be taking place February 2 – 9 with several breweries, chefs and restaurants in the Cincinnati area taking part in the weeklong event. The Cincy Winter Beerfest will feature over 60 breweries, 300 craft beers to sample, and 10,000 craft beer lovers. This year, over a dozen local independent restaurants will join in the fun by serving menu items created or paired with craft beers.

The Cincy Winter Beerfest benefits the Big joe Duskin Music Education Foundation, an organization whose sole mission is to produce as many in-school Music presentations as possible utilizing local professional musicians to get children excited about playing musical instruments. Big Joe Duskin was a legendary boogie woogie piano player from Cincinnati that passed away in 2007. Friends created the foundation to honor his legacy by focusing on what he himself loved to do…. perform in the schools. As the beer festivals have grown each year, so have the number of Presentations. Previous Beerfests have raised over $36,000 for the foundation allowing presentations in schools that have reached over 14,000 children but the 2012 Cincy Winter Beerfest alone will raise over $20,000.
