The Ballroom at the Taft Theatre to open its doors to live music

(Cincinnati, OH – 2/10/12) – Music & Events Management Inc. (MEMI) announced today that the Ballroom at the Taft Theatre will begin hosting live music events beginning this March.  The Ballroom at the Taft (located in the lower level of the Taft Theatre) is a showcase style club venue that will play host to a variety of live entertainment events spanning all types of styles and genres.

The addition of the Ballroom will put MEMI in a very unique position in the Cincinnati market.  MEMI will now own/operate venues with capacities ranging from 500 to 20,500.  This will allow MEMI to work with artists as they grow and develop within the industry and the market.

“The addition of live events in the Ballroom at the Taft is just a continuation of our overall goal of improving the Taft Theatre as a whole.  Which in turn will help improve the cultural & economic development of the city of Cincinnati,” said MEMI CEO Mike Smith. ”We’re looking forward to presenting a great variety of shows that might otherwise skip this market, and to continuing the Taft’s terrific relationship with downtown Cincinnati.”

The first few shows will be announced Monday, and go on sale Friday February 17th.   Tickets for all Ballroom events will be on sale at www.ticketmaster.com, www.tafttheatre.org, the Taft Theatre Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets including select Kroger stores.  Charge by phone at 1.800.745.3000.
