Sony Masterworks proudly announces that the Tedeschi Trucks Band has won a Grammy Awardfor their album, Revelatorin the Best Blues Album category. Ledby the husband-wife team of singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks,Revelator is the debut album from the couple’s new 11-piece ensemble, Tedeschi Trucks Band.  Susan Tedeschi has been nominated five times previously and won her first Grammy last night with Revelator. In their acceptance speech, the band paid tribute to  several late legends Pinetop Perkins, Etta James, Hubert Sumlin and Honeyboy Edwards who have had a tremendous influence on their playing styles.

This year, Derek Trucks also had the honor of receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award as a member of the Allman Brothers Band.  At  32 years old, Trucks is one of the youngest recipients of this acclaimed award.

This month, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks will celebrate Blues music at the White House.  Tedeschi and Trucks will perform in the East Room as part of the taped PBS special, “In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues.” President and Mrs. Obama will host the concert event on Tuesday, February 21 in recognition of Black History Month.  The all-star concert also features Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy among others, and celebrates the great figures of the Blues genre and the songs they made famous.  “In Performance at the White House: Red, White and Blues” premieres on Monday, February 27 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings).  The event will also be streamed live at www.whitehouse.gov/live www.pbs.org/whitehouse  and www.blackpublicmedia.org.

Recognized for their outstanding live performances, Everybody’s Talkin, a live album, is in the works for later this year.

Tedeschi Trucks Band delivers everything you’d expect and more from Tedeschi’s powerful voice and Trucks’ flawless guitar. The all-star lineup has been praised by concert goers nationwide for their brilliant musicianship and roof-raising performances of Revelator favorites like “Come See About Me,”  “Midnight in Harlem” and “Bound for Glory” as well as their creative take on a few choice covers from Tedeschi and Trucks’ wide-ranging musical influences.

Recently honored by a panel of his peers and industry experts as #16 in Rolling Stone’s poll of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, Trucks was the youngest person to make the list, and the only person in the top 20 under the age of 50.  Revelator was relased in June 2010 and is filled with smoky, swampy blues-dipped rockers that blend Delta blues and Memphis soul, Sixties rock and Seventies funk with an entirely original, modern sensibility.

Tedeschi Trucks Band features brothers Oteil Burbridge (noted for his years as bassist with the Allman Brothers Band) and Kofi Burbridge (longtime keyboardist/flutist with The Derek Trucks Band), harmony singers Mike Mattison (vocalist with Derek Trucks Band) and Mark Rivers, with drummers J. J.Johnson and Tyler Greenwell, trumpeter Maurice Brown, tenor saxophonist Kebbi Williams and trombonist Saunders Sermons.
