Named Rolling Stone’s “Band to Watch” in the December 2011 issue, Mr. Gnome is blasting off with a space-rock sound truly unique to the Midwest. Hailing from Cleveland, the duos music has been described as “psychedelic,” and “gritty” but rock is clearly at the core of their upbeat, intense tunes. Singer-guitarist Nicole Barille’s fierce feminine vocals combine with drummer-pianist Sam Meister’s dense beats creating temperamental melodies. Not to be missed, they will be performing with local rockers Fake Hands at Mayday Friday, March 2. The show is free and the music will begin around 10pm.
