Margaret Darling of The Seedy Seeds is leaving her accordion at home on Tuesday, June 26, but she’ll be bringing her guitar and a few friends along for an evening of music at Arnold’s Bar and Grill. Having just returned from TSS’ latest tour, Darling will be taking the opportunity to share more of her extensive song catalogue. Seeds fans will find familiarity in the same carefully crafted lyricism and addictive melodies that characterize TSS’ body of work, though her stripped-down and unabashedly melancholic material is a departure from TSS’ upbeat discography.

In the process of recording her first solo album, this darker and more intimate incarnation of the Cincy songstress can only be heard live. For this occasion, Margaret will be joined by musical renaissance man Cameron Cochran (Pop Empire and Jeremy Pinnell and the 55’s) on pedal steel.

The cover-free music will begin at 7 P.M. with sets from Philadelphian tourmates—singer-songwriter Chelsea Mitchell and post-folk one-man outfit The Anchorite (whose latest release features accordion from Darling).

Catch Margaret Darling with The Anchorite and Chelsea Mitchell on Tuesday, June 26 at Arnold’s Bar and Grill, 210 East Eighth St, Cincinnati, OH,  7:00 P.M.
