CINCINNATI – (6-28-2012) – Fountain Square will celebrate the Fourth of July on July 3 this year! Join us on Tuesday, July 3 from 7PM to 10PM for a night of music, fun and a sensational fireworks display courtesy of American Fireworks Co., Cincinnati’s leading pioneers in pyrotechnics.
American Roots will kick off the night at 7PM performances from both Sassy Molasses and Shiny and The Spoon. Sassy Molasses claims that their music possesses a kind of “twang” unlike any other group in the business. Their self-described sound encompasses aspects of country and folk, topped off with a dash of blues and a sprinkle of funk—all of which make Sassy Molasses stand out from the rest. Not to be outdone, Shiny and the Spoon –often referred to as “the best folk duo in our region”—have effectively blended genres of folk and pop, coupled with exceptional vocals and vibrant acoustics. The band loves to make use of every instrument they can, from ukuleles and guitars to harmonicas and “good old-fashioned boot-stompin’”.
At 10PM Shiny and The Spoon will take their final bows, just in time for the “real show” to begin, complete with a soundtrack from DJ Tweet. For ten minutes fireworks, accompanied by a special soundtrack from DJ Tweet, will light up the night sky as friends and families from across the Tri-State come together to celebrate our nation’s Independence Day.
