Trixie Whitley is putting out her first solo record, Fourth Corner, on January 29th on Strong Blood Records. Though this album is the 25 year old’s technical debut, she’s definitely no newcomer…not only is she renowned singer-songwriter Chris Whitley’s daughter, but she used to be the lead singer of Black Dub, super-producer Daniel Lanois’ (U2, Bob Dylan) project, where her voice and presence completely blew people away.

Fourth Corner was recorded in NYC with producer/keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman), engineer Pat Dillett (David Byrne, Mary J. Blige), with string attangements by Rob Moose (Antony and the Johnsons, Bon Iver). Having lived a nomadic life, growing up both in Belgium and New York, her life experiences as well as cathartic, emotional, soulful voice are what define this gorgeous record.
