“Heroes and Villains” A Rare Joint Performance at Music Hall on March 2

Macy’s Arts Sampler weekend celebrates it 27th Anniversary and ArtsWave is excited to try something new – scheduling the Arts Sampler over three Saturdays during the 12-week community campaign for the arts from mid-February through April, and increasing the number of programs in neighborhood and community arts centers. As part of Macy’s Arts Sampler weekend on Saturday, March 2, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, May Festival Chorus, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will all take the Music Hall stage for a rare joint performance, dubbed “Heroes and Villains,” at 1 p.m.

The Macy’s Arts Sampler weekends, sponsored by Macy’s, celebrate the creative things — music, dance, theater, museums, and festivals — happening in large and small ways throughout our region. These weekends are great opportunities for families, friends, and neighbors to connect with one another and experience the arts through free events. The last two weekends will offer some 130 events at over 75 venues all over the region.

The “Heroes and Villains” Music Hall concert boasts an action-packed line-up featuring thrilling music and dance from Romeo & Juliet, Aida, Don Giovanni, Swan Lake, and more. The 40-minute performance of blockbuster classics is designed to delight fans of all ages. This rare opportunity to witness these five organizations share the same stage is part of a day-long schedule of arts programming in and around Washington Park. This day featuring “Action! Adventure! Art!” includes a wide variety of performances and activities showcasing the thrilling side to the arts. Food trucks will be parked in the area for lunch.

The Macy’s Arts Sampler Weekends are a celebration of the arts in our community, and occur throughout the annual community campaign, when people all across our region come together to support the fun things to do in greater Cincinnati.
