He’s My Brother She’s My Sister, Kopecky Family Band
May 11, 2013
MOTR Pub, 1345 Main St, Cincinnati, OH
Free, 10 pm
He’s My Brother She’s My Sister puts on a super solid and energetic live show, with one very unique element you aren’t likely to find anywhere else: the band features a tap-dancer acting as percussion. Their debut, Nobody Dances In This Town, came out 1/22 on Park the Van. They’re in the middle of their nationwide tour for the better part of 2013 including dates at SXSW.
Brother and sister Robert and Rachel Kolar split vocals while Lauren Brown drums/tap-dances, joined by stand up bass and lead guitar on a lap slide. In the past year they’ve played over 150+ shows with Neko Case, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Local Natives, Dawes, My Morning Jacket, and many others, and were one of Austin City Limits’ breakout bands this year.
