Seattle based orchestral-pop sextet Hey Marseilles will be performing at The Southgate House on Tuesday, June 25th. The band is touring in support of their critically acclaimed sophomore release Lines We Tracewhich came out earlier this year via Onto Entertainment and Thirty Tigers. Hey Marseilles will continue to tour through June and July, including stops at Firefly Music Festival, Milwaukee Summerfest, Newport Folk Festival and The Capital Hill Block Party in their hometown. The new album features 12 songs overflowing with ornate orchestration, catchy melodies and honest lyricism. Using cello, viola, trumpet, accordion, clarinets, piano, guitar and drums to create a lush backdrop for their original compositions, the band describes their music as “folkestra”. Lines We Trace has received high praise from a wide range of outlets, including Paste, NPR Music, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, American Songwriter, Popmatters, Seattle Times and many more.
