May 21, 2013 – (Logan, OH) – Rootwire returns to Kaeppner’s Woods in Logan, Ohio August 15-18 peeking its head into the nexus of nature and culture once again. The heart and soul of Papadosio’s artistic expression, Rootwire is a multi-day event that envelops those in attendance in a cascading flow of artistic expression from live music to painting, installation to performance art, presentations, workshops, ceremony and more. An expedition into light, nature, sound, community and healing awaits all those in attendance.
Since its inception in 2010, Rootwire has grown to be one of the premier live music and arts events in the Midwest – and is the on-going creative project of the nationally touring electronic/rock syndicate Papadosio. Well known for their relentless touring schedule, mindful melodies and transcendent tracks, Papadosio has become one of the major acts today seeking to reshape and transform the music festival landscape. Through their own eyes and ears, they have witnessed miracles and mishaps of festival culture alike and threw the first Rootwire as a way to create and practice their model for an ideal gathering. Every year since, the line-up and scope of the festival has grown, culminating in the critically acclaimed RW2K12, easily the most exciting and elegant Rootwire to date.
In their own words, Papadosio invokes the occasion:
“After months of research, planning, phone calls, emails, and meetings we couldn’t be more excited to bring you what we feel like will be the most eclectic and forward thinking artist lineup of Summer 2013, and this is only the first wave! As with every year, we have meticulously searched far and wide for the most amazing and inspiring musicians, artists, and presenters out there and are assembling them for your experiential and mind-glowing pleasure at the fourth annual Rootwire!
If you don’t know by now, Papadosio’s Rootwire is a gathering that puts every effort into the integrity of the discerning attendants experience, creating a fully immersive environment full of wonder and intrigue. This 4 day and night extravaganza has been developed with the intention of pure inspiration, designed from the ground up to get all in attendance excited about the act of personal and collective creation. The musical lineup is hand selected personally by Papadosio, and features jaw dropping sounds from local, regional, national and international acts. Visually Rootwire offers the largest festival based visionary art gallery in the Eastern United States, hosting an international artist lineup whose works are of the most moving and stunning expressions committed to canvas. This landmark festival also gives the same attention to the spiritual, educational, and ceremonial aspects of celebration, offering a wonderful selection of skilled speakers, powerful practitioners, empowered activists, wise elders, and activated yogis.
Ask anyone who has been to Rootwire and they will tell you it is so much more than another fill in the blank music festival. It has been designed with you and your personal experience and growth in mind. We hope that you will come share in our celebration of life; that you will take something with you, so that well after the festival is over and months have passed, what was created together in the humble hills of Ohio will continue to bring you joy and inspiration along your path.”
Stay tuned for the next wave lineup announcement coming soon!
