About THE WOODWARD THEATER, 1404 Main Street Cincinnati
A unique Over-the-Rhine architectural treasure, the beaux-arts style theater originally opened June of 1913 and operated through 1933.
The Woodward was purchased by the ownership group of MOTR Pub (located directly across the street) with help from Cincinnati Development Fund in February 2013, The Woodward’s 100th year, to be brought back to service the OTR community for the first time since 1933 as The Woodward Theater.
The Woodward Theater will operate as a music venue and multi-use events hall available to the varied events of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati’s arts and cultural hub.
Funding of the planned $750,000 Woodward renovation project is presently being pursued with Hamilton County Development Company (HCDC). Target opening date, operational details and benefit to the community will be discussed at the Woodward’s 100th Birthday June 18 before TUESDAY’S TURN ON of the Woodward Theater’s 52 façade light bulbs at sunset!
Nationally recognized Cincinnati recording artist Brian Olive will perform a FREE SHOW at MOTR directly after Woodward Theater lights up OTR’s corner of Main and 14th Streets (estimated show time 9PM).
Neighborhood brewing company Christian Moerlein is a proud sponsor of TUESDAY’S TURN ON. MOTR will feature special Moerlein beers on tap:
Hudepohl Amber Lager, Hudepohl Summer Pils , Moerlein OTR, Moerlein Seven Hefeweizen and Moerlein Lager House Original Golden Helles.
