This weekend Washington Park hosts two days of authentic Celtic-themed fun! Produced by 3CDC and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the 2013 Cincinnati Celtic Festival offers patrons a chance to savor plenty of traditional Celtic merchandise, art, food and music. Festivities begin Saturday, September 14, at noon with an opening ceremony featuring the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Celtic dancers, and bagpipers. The fun continues through Sunday, September 15. The Cincinnati Celtic Festival is a chance to experience traditional Irish fare, from piping hot shepherd’s pie and corned beef sandwiches, to sausages and potato pancakes. Festival favorites like cotton candy, funnel cakes and snow cones will also be available for purchase. Browse rows of artistic offerings, wood carvings, home décor and hand beaded jewelry from a variety of local craft vendors. See below for a complete list of merchandise and food vendors.
Festival-goers can also enter to win FREE tickets to the Aronoff Center’s November 19th presentation of “The Priests”, an award-winning classical music trio hailing all the way from Northern Ireland. Keep an eye out for the Cincinnati Art Association booth for your chance to enter the contest. The booth opens at noon both Saturday and Sunday, and drawings will be held four times a day. Please note that you must be present in order to win.
Admission to the 2013 Cincinnati Celtic Festival is FREE and open to the public. Convenient parking is located in the Washington Park Garage, directly beneath the Park. Concessions stands, merchandise tents and food vendors open promptly at noon. Full bar service, drink specials and plenty of ice cold Guinness is available.
