A fresh face with a raw progressive folk sound is emerging from Cleveland, Ohio and taking her “No gadgets, No gimmicks” show on a 20 city international tour this spring, 2014. Diana Chittester has been writing, recording and performing her new material at venues and festivals around the region with a powerful response from audiences and fans. The No gadgets, No gimmicks tour is expanding boundaries into Canada where Chittester will be out promoting her first full length acoustic studio album. The recording will take place in New Orleans with engineer, Andrew Gilchrist “Goat Boy”, known for his work with dozens of artists ranging from Ani DiFranco, Drums and Tuba to Hamell on Trial.
“This tour gives me the opportunity to bring my stories off the new album to an audience that connects to a strong female guitarist and storyteller”, says Diana Chittester, “my guitar demands audience’s attention while telling the story with thought provoking lyrics.”
“I am also extremely excited to record my upcoming acoustic album with Andrew Gilchrist. His experience and enthusiasm is what is needed to capture my aggressive guitar playing style and attitude on a solo acoustic record.”
Diana Chittester broke into the independent music market in 2008 when asked to open for award winning guitarist, Jennifer Batten (Michael Jackson). She went on to share the stage with a diverse array of artists ranging from Melissa Ferrick, Catie Curtis, Kim Richey, Bitch and Ferron, blues guitarist Kelly Richey, to classic rocker Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown and Pittsburgh/Cleveland legends, Donnie Iris and Michael Stanley.
Her music has been played on U.S. international radio stations. Chittester has appeared on various TV networks, including PBS, music programs and has garnered attention through established publications in the regions she has toured and her sound and stage presence has received notable attention.
