The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (Pops) is delighted to present Pixar in Concert for its Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 4-6 concerts at historic Music Hall. Thirteen of Pixar’s most adored animated feature films come together for this spectacular, cinematic performance, featuring sounds from the Toy Story trilogy, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Brave and more. Just like the movies, this program will seamlessly fuse the films’ spectacular visual clips with their memorable musical scores.
Leading the podium for this thrilling concert is the enthusiastic Pops conductor, John Morris Russell (JMR). A favorite among audiences, JMR recently extended his contract with Pops for an additional five years. With ten sold-out concerts under his belt during his tenure with the Pops, JMR is especially well regarded for his rapport with kids and families and his educational programming. He has been deemed, “a great ambassador for the [Pops], for music and really for all of the arts” (Trey Devey, President of the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra).
This family-friendly concert program adds to the Pops’ robust line-up of concerts for kids of all ages, including the March 29 Lollipops Family Concert featuring Prokofiev’s mainstay, Peter and the Wolf.
Audiences will have the opportunity to meet CSO and Pops percussionist Marc Wolfley, who will be signing copies of his CDs in the lobby after these performances.
Tickets for this concert start at just $12 and are available by calling the CSO Box Office at (513) 381-3300 or visiting www.cincinnatisymphony.org.
