Whoever said you don’t get better with age has never been to Riverbend Music Center. When the gates open this May for Riverbend’s thirty-first concert season patrons will notice another major improvement. Today the venue unveiled four brand new, state-of-the-art, LED Lawn Video Boards. The new and improved Skyline Chilivision will make every lawn seat feel like the front row.
Mike Smith , CEO of Music and Event Management, Inc. commented, “We doubled the number of video boards from two to four and installed state-of-the art LED technology that will give lawn patrons an up close and personal view of every artist day or night.”
In addition, an identical fifth video board will be installed at the East end of the venue concourse to provide event imaging while fans visit concession stands and restrooms.
This enhancement is part of a multi-year strategic initiative to create an exceptional fan experience for everyone who visits Riverbend Music Center and PNC Pavilion. In 2012 Riverbend Music Center became the first (and still only) amphitheatre in the country to install a synthetic concert lawn which provides a safe, clean, and dry environment for lawn patrons regardless of the weather. Over the years Riverbend has invested over 15 million dollars in capital improvements with one simple goal, to be the best live concert venue in the country.
The addition of the new video screens would not be possible without the support of the Patricia and J. Ralph Corbett Riverbend Endowment as well as the generosity of Tom and Dee Stegman.
Concert-goers will get to experience the new video boards on May 30th when Lady Antebellum brings their Take Me Down Tour to Riverbend, however the concert season will officially kick off with the Sold Out
Daryl Hall and John Oates show at PNC Pavilion on Sunday, May 11th.
“Ticket sales are tracking ahead of last year at this time,” said Marketing Director Rosemarie Moehring. “We have already announced three sold out shows and it’s only April. I believe our success is due in part to the quality and diversity of entertainment as well as the investments we have made to enhance the fan experience.”
