New York, NY December 11, 2014 – Singer/Songwriter, iamchelseaiam, takes center stage at Newport’s renowned venue, The Southgate House Revival (111 E 6th St, Newport, KY) on December 30th at 9pm for their weekly Musicians Showcase along with The Willow Tree Carolers. After playing notable New York venues such as Piano’s NYC, the guitarist is happy to bring her brand of Pop/R&B to her hometown.
iamchelseaiam, who began her performance career earlier this year is also a songwriter for talent such as Kenny Araujo (NBC’s The Voice), Jibreel (Motown on Broadway) and a number of independent artists in the New York and Chicago area. With plans to release a project in 2015, the singer/songwriter cites Stevie Wonder, the Notorious BIG and the band Chicago as musical influences. She attributes such influences to her mother, who is also celebrating her birthday on the December 30th date.
“I’m really excited to be playing back home. A lot of my friends and family have seen what i’ve been doing through my Instagram and Facebook but its going to be even better for them to see me live. Playing in front of strangers comes easy to me, but playing in front of a room of people who have embarassing high school pictures or have changed your diapers is a different story”, says the native Cincinnatian. While she currently feels at home in New York City, she still craves local favorites Skyline Chili and bleeds Bengals orange and black during the football season.
