Craig Finn has shared “Screenwriters School” from his Newmyer’s Roof EP that was released last year via PledgeMusic, and will be available on Friday, March 4 with two extra tracks (digitally and on cassette) via Partisan Records. The track premiered via Stereogum, who called it “a somber, bass-heavy ballad rich in Finn’s classic storytelling.” The track is available to stream or embed HERE.

Craig also began a tour with longtime friends and kindred spirits Titus Andronicus last night at Webster Hall in New York City. The tour continues tonight in Baltimore at Ottobar and will take the two groups through New OrleansAustinMinneapolisChicago and more before concluding on March 27 at Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The full list of tour dates can be found below.

Craig’s recent full-length Faith In The Future received praise from all corners ahead of its release last September. In addition to a stellar appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Rolling Stone premiered the video for “Maggie I’ve Been Searching For Our Son” alongside a revealing Q&A. The entirety of Faith in the Future received its premiere a week before its release on Vulture.com, and Finn recently appeared inThe New Yorker‘s “Talk of the Town” and was featured on Brett Easton Ellis’ podcast. He also was a guest on a Grantland podcast with Patrick Stickles from Titus Andronicus. Slate ran a feature on Craig and the new record, while NPR premiered the first track, “Newmyer’s Roof” and the Wall Street Journal the second one, “Maggie I’ve Been Searching for Our Son” saying: “With an emphasis on melancholy keyboards and synths instead of raucous electric guitars, the song is a character sketch that picks up in the middle of what sounds like a wrenching settling of accounts. Finn says the tune was one of the first ones he finished for the new album.”
