British singer-songwriter Frank Turner announced today that he will return stateside this winter for a 2017 North American tour with his band The Sleeping Souls. Turner, who will headline dates in the US, kicks off the tour in Silver Springs, MD on January 19 at The Fillmore and will hit major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Philadelphia (see full listings of cities below).
“I’m always happy to announce more tour dates, but rarely so much as today; not only are we coming back to the USA and hitting some major cities, not only are we touring Canada with our new friends the Arkells, not only do we have an amazing line-up of bands opening for me, we’re also playing my first Arena headline show outside the UK, in Boston,” said Turner. Ticket pre-sales launch on Tuesday, October 18 at 10am local time via Brooklyn Vegan exclusively for their subscribers and a Citi pre-sale will be available to Citi cardholders as well. On Wednesday, October 19 at 10am local time pre-sales will be available via Live Nation with the password DANCE and viaTicketmaster with the password MITTENS. Last year, Turner released his sixth album Positive Songs For Negative People, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2013 release Tape Deck Heart. Turner recorded Positive Songs For Negative Peoplewith his trusted backing band The Sleeping Souls and it was produced by Butch Walker in Nashville. An EP titled Mittensfollowed featuring a new mix of the title track plus four additional songs.
