Cincinnati-based indie pop/rock band, PUBLIC have been turning heads with their infectious pop melodies, leaving fans thrilled to hear more from the trio. Following the band’s popular single “Perfect,” which was remixed by Walk the Moon‘s Eli Maiman, PUBLIC is stepping up their game with an upbeat track that’s about being vulnerable and taking chances. Today, the band is thrilled to be partnering with IMPOSE Magazine to unveil their latest track, “4Her.” This is what PUBLIC’s bassist Matthew Alvarado had to say about the track:

“When it comes to relationships, the majority of us tend to take the same road; the easiest one, the most comfortable option. In today’s day and age, it’s the equivalent of being friends with benefits, where there are no obligations, no strings attached. We live for being the ones needed by others, because the aspect of needing someone makes us vulnerable, and being vulnerable scares us. That’s where “4Her” is; the uncomfortable area, that area where we can get hurt. It’s a place safeguarded by questions made to second guess ourselves. It’s that terrifying, yet exhilarating obstacle that holds us back from taking that final leap. The hardest part is in understanding that the other side might not hold exactly what we’ve been waiting for, but we’ll never know unless we take that chance.” –  Matthew Alvarado, PUBLIC

PUBLIC is a pop/rock trio from Cincinnati, Ohio. John Vaughn (lead vocals/guitar) and Ben Lapps (drums) started writing songs in a basement as a duo before being joined by Matt Alvarado (bass) to form their current lineup, PUBLIC. Quickly after, the band found themselves on the road supporting acts such as Walk the Moon, Twenty One Pilots, Young the Giant, as well as participating in major festivals like Forecastle, Bunbury, CMJ, and SXSW, giving them exposure to a variety of crowds and fanbases. Their single “Heartbeating” was trending on HypeMachine’s top twitter tracks in 2015 directly following its independent release. As momentum continues to grow, PUBLIC looks to make a big impact with their upcoming releases in 2016, carrying a message that someone’s identity can be found outside the lines of what’s expected or acceptable. The music and lyrics are there to communicate honest experiences and express the vulnerable truth that PUBLIC is made up of three humans that desire to use music as a means to connect.
