The Cliftones are currently on their way out to California to bring Cincinnati reggae to the masses. Cincy Groove is very lucky to have photo journalist Joelle Gueguen documenting the tour with her photos.
My 7th installment is about days 7 and 8 as day 8 was a day off for the band. It was a double gig day. The region of Longbeach and Santa Monica suffered extreme rain that people from California weren’t accustomed to. The band arrived at a flooded Don The BeachComber’s. Some amps and rigs had to stay in the van, because of this Brent Olds who was then able to play on Reggae bass player living legend Fully Fullwood rig… a dream come true as Fully’s band played just before the Cliftones! In spite of the rain a full sunny party took place there.
The second gig took place at The Basement in Santa Monica where the band was accompanied once again by the talented Prime Livity band and singer Ameera.
