About Herzog Music
“Where Music Plays Beautifully” – Vintage Guitars, Instruments and Gear, Classic Vinyl, New Specialty Records, Music Heritage and Instrument Lessons, Access to Herzog Studio Space for Recording, Photo and Art Galleries and Artifacts – Hang-out and Destination Spot for Visitors

Herzog Music is a new music collective and emporium designed to bring together the region’s music community and welcome visiting musicians to participate in our area’s rich and diverse music scene, located in the historically marked spot where Cincinnati’s first R&B was recorded under Henry Glover for King Records and Hank Williams Sr. cut classics like “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.”

In partnership with Cincinnati USA Music Heritage Foundation (CMHF), headquartered in the Herzog studio space for about 8 years, Herzog Music has been formed thanks to Mike Reeder of Mike’s Music, Elias Leisring, Bill Furbee, Keith Neltner, Andrew Aragon, Clint Joel Stephenson and many notable musicians and enthusiasts of the local music community. Already an historic destination spot visited and used by touring musicians like Patti Smith, MusicNow, a music school from Italy, as well as a revived recording locale, Herzog Music promises to activate a greater exclamation point on Cincinnati as a key music town.

GET THE INSTRUMENTS AND GEAR YOU NEED UP TO SPEED Herzog Music’s partnership with Mike’s Music brings an unparalleled selection of new and used gear to downtown. Mike’s Music is THE place to go for vintage guitars and instruments and is often cited as a top store for Ohio and the nation. Herzog Music is thrilled to partner with Mike’s Music and be added to its Short Vine and Covington operations. We’ll be building custom boutique amplifiers in-house and working with independent luthiers to offer one-of-a-kind instruments. Herzog Music will also serve the region’s significant need for electronics and gear repair services.

EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH is at the core of Cincinnati Music Heritage Foundation’s mission and is partnering with Herzog Music and Ludlow, Kentucky’s Folk School Coffee Parlor and many notable musicians to launch the Queen City Music Academy to offer a diverse, qualified staff of music instructors for both individual and group lessons and free monthly clinics. Classes will be offered on such diverse topics as Blues Piano, Folk Banjo, Rock Guitar and DJ/Production.

RECORDS & INSPIRATION for music fans of all types is on hand, too – we’ll have a large collection of records to browse and offer vintage stereo components and repair services, in addition to an exclusive partnership with Neltner Small Batch to offer limited-edition art and prints, making it easier than ever to let your space reflect your musical passion. New music will also be available like new 7” 45 r.p.m. releases by All-Seeing Eyes and Tigerlilies recently recorded at Herzog.

LOCATION At 811 Race St, this storefront faces the Herzog Studios and Hank Williams Sr. Historic Marker between 8th and 9th street on Race. Herzog Music shares its ceiling with the floor of the Historic Herzog studio space, where Hank Williams Sr., Henry Glover, Patti Page and The Delmore Brothers recorded along with other legends from 1945-1955.
