The Mavericks solidify their presence as a band with longevity and staying power, by consistently creating music and songs that are engaging and relevant. NPR Music featured “Easy As It Seems” on their essentials music list, calling out the lyrics’ relevant subject matter concurrent with the political landscape. Pumping out an impressive wall of sound on the album and in their live show, The Mavericks add to their characteristic musical style with a vibrant cultural distinction. Paste said, “Raul Malo’s Cuban-American heritage has always given this band a distinct south of the border ethos to parallel their country bona fides. Indeed, it’s a unique approach that blends retro romanticism and the kind of range and swagger that the most distinctive show bands possess.” Malo’s roots recently led the band to travel to Cuba, the country where his parents fled following the Castro revolution in 1959. PBS documented the trip for a special TV broadcast that will air this fall. More details to be announced.

The Mavericks are hailed as one of America’s most original and best live bands. Led by the mesmerizing vocals of Raul Malo, the driving swing of drummer Paul Deakin, the masterful playing of guitarist Eddie Perez and eccentric style of keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden, the band has the power to transform any room into a raucous musical celebration.
