9th Annual Bluegrass For Babies Benefit Concert Returns To Seasongood Pavilion On 9/23

Bluegrass for Babies

The Healthy Roots Foundation is proud to announce that the 9th annual Bluegrass for Babies benefit concert will return to Seasongood Pavilion in Eden Park on Saturday, September 23. The concert, which benefits Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, will run from 3-9pm, and feature music from top bluegrass bands, family-friendly activities, local concessions, and much more.

This year’s concert lineup features performances from local favorites and some of the region’s top bluegrass bands including Jake Speed & The Freddies, The Redemptioners, and the Comet Bluegrass All-Stars. Special guest Jennifer Ellis will return to perform her popular children’s songs. “The Bluegrass for Babies concert holds a special place in our hearts,” said Anne Schneider, founder of Bluegrass for Babies and The Healthy Roots Foundation. “To see how the community has helped us grow our backyard bluegrass concert into a major fundraiser for Children’s Hospital with 100% of the proceeds benefiting their work is incredible. Each year we try to thank our supporters by putting on the best family-friendly concert possible.” Food and drinks will be available from Bluegrass for Babies favorites MadTree Brewing and Dewey’s Pizza. Dewey’s Pizza will once again donate 100% of the proceeds from their pizza truck at the event.

The concert, an official Giving Hope Fundraising Event for Cincinnati Children’s, was started by Anne and Matt Schneider in 2009 as a way to give back to the hospital, which provided life-saving surgery to their newborn son. Since the first concert in their backyard, the organization has evolved into the Healthy Roots Foundation, a year-round organization that provides tools, programming, and resources for families and hosts a variety of special events with the mission of helping parents create an optimal environment to raise healthy children. The Healthy Roots Foundation has donated more than $200,000 to Cincinnati Children’s since its inception.

We’re so proud to be able to make a positive impact on children’s health by supporting the important work being done at Cincinnati Children’s,” said Schneider. “This event is a way for the whole community to say thank you to Children’s for the world-class care they provide. We continue to be amazed by the excellence of the hospital and how they truly care about the community and patients they serve.”

Money raised at the concert will be donated to the Perinatal Institute at Cincinnati Children’s. The Perinatal Institute combines the latest advances in clinical care, research technology, and provides highly specialized care to newborns facing devastating medical conditions. Due to research expertise, innovation, and partnership with families, 95% of the fragile babies cared for by the Perinatal Institute go home with their families.

Tickets for the Bluegrass for Babies benefit concert are $12 for adults through September 1, $15 from September 2-22, and $20 on the day of the concert. Children under 12 are admitted for free. Tickets are limited due to the space available at Seasongood Pavilion, and the event is expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bluegrassforbabies.com.

Sponsorship packages for families and organizations are available through September 8. Benefits include VIP perks at the benefit concert and kids t-shirts. Details can be found at www.bluegrassforbabies.com.
