The video and single were released with the help of Cincymusic.com on Tuesday, February 27th.  You can stream the single “Don’t Take Da Bait” at the QCSS Bandcamp site as well as pre-order the upcoming EP “Wha Gwaan.”  Listeners can order the digital download, CD or get the Fan Pack which includes a signed copy of “Wha Gwaan” plus a t-shirt, koozie and other QCSS goodies.

“Don’t Take Da Bait” is a rootsy reggae tune that wraps itself around QCSS’s distinctive  midwestern vibe.  A catchy melodic line tells a story in three verses and gives the listener advice to watch out for life’s pitfalls and traps, even the ones you set for yourself.  The chorus that tells you to “Don’t Take Da Bait” is inspired by the old mento songs from Jamaica.  Mento is a style of folk music that predates ska and reggae where the songs typically reference everyday life and relationships in a very tongue and cheek way.  The video is an animated representation of the lyrics and features the artwork of QCSS frontman, Mark Becknell.

You can can watch videos, stream music and find upcoming shows at their website, www.queencitysilverstars.com.   Catch them live on  March 16th at Fretboard Brewery (Blue Ash, OH).
