When Olivia Frances walks on stage, her infectious positive energy and powerful stage presence captures a room. After winning four distinguished awards in 2018 alone, this pop/folk artist released her full-length, fan-funded, third album Orchid in June described by the Worcester Telegram & Gazette as “irrepressibly sweet — and eminently likable.” Blending nature-inspired lyrics with ethereal vocals and organic guitar picking, Frances’s unique “sunshine-story-pop” sound is a flowery mix of Colbie Caillat’s catchy acoustic melodies, Joni Mitchell’s unique vocal arrangements, and Florence and the Machine’s energetic, emotive performance.

This Cincinnati-native continues to be recognized by Nashville Songwriter Association International (NSAI) as a “Ones to Watch” songwriter, now over a dozen times. Her songs on SoundCloud have reached over 100,000 streams, generating a loyal fanbase around the world. Her critically-acclaimed single, “Moon to My Sun” was the VOX Pop Winner in the Love Song Category at the 2018 Independent Music Awards (IMA’s) held at Lincoln Center. The IMA’s “honor the year’s most exceptional self-released & indie label projects from around the world.” She also won 1st place in the Singer-Songwriter Category in the 2018 New England Songwriting Competition. As an independent artist, Frances has organized several tours throughout the Midwest, South, and along the East Coast, impressing audiences from Nashville to Boston. In 2018, she was one of the few American artists selected to perform at IndieWeek Canada in Toronto, where she made her international debut.

This songbird has written and co-written over 300 songs with hit writers such as Billy Lee (“The One” by Gary Allan), Kevin So (“Crush On You” by India Arie), and Matt Stell (“Prayed for You”). Her latest album Orchid was produced at Riverfront Recording Studio by distinguished musician and producer Pat Lassiter, who has been referred to as the Max Martin of Nashville. Musical from a young age, Frances started playing piano at age six and composed her first song on guitar at age twelve. She took a gap year in Nashville to hone her craft and further develop her musical style. Frances credits Fleetwood Mac, Bon Iver, and Kacey Musgraves as musical inspirations.

In May, Olivia graduated summa cum laude from Clark University in Worcester, MA with a major in Global Environmental Studies and minor in Music. Her “Orchid Summer Tour” ended in Nashville, which she’s now calling home once again. Her fans, who are affectionately referred to as “Frances Friends,” and new listeners alike, can keep up with her upcoming shows and news at www.oliviafrancesmusic.com.
